Greedy Frederick by Florence Leigh, 1899

Moralist Christmas Tale with maybe anti-german sentiment prior to WW1. Suspiciously the antihero young Frederick has a german name and  on Christmas eve puts on a tantrum where he will eat nothing but gingerbread. Santa decides that punishment is due and gives him a Noah's ark of gingerbread animals and leaves him to his fate. ("tough love".)
