Published by the author in Cambridge, Massachusetts 1853 FIRST EDITION, sold by subscription. 

Used brown cloth hardbound stamped in blind  6"x9.5", written in 24 parts separately paginated with 24 colored engravings of original drawings copied from nature with a 55 pp glossary of terms and 89pp of ads for Good's Family Flora book with one additional engraving of wolf-bane ( aconitum napallus). The book is scarce because it was probably was expensive since author notes in PREFACE, " the extreme difficulty and great expense of executing the colored plates at once in an accurate and elegant style, can only be appreciated by those who have actually attempted the same kind of thing".

Condition: generally good with bumped edges, a tear of cloth of juncture of spine with front near top ( see photo 1.). A couple spots here and there and a very faint name and maybe date on last blank page .
